May be Good Enough to Satisfy Your Violet Crumble Addiction
By JimB
Australian Violet Crumble candy bars have become almost impossible to find in mainland USA stores and if ordered online, they are usually at least $3 each. Cadbury Crunchie bars from the UK are very similar to Violet Crumbles, but the honeycomb-like center is less dense/uniform, has a slightly different flavor and the chocolate coating is softer and more like sweet milk chocolate. If you are a Violet Crumble addict, you can probably overlook the slight differences, because the Cadbury product can usually be ordered for less than $1/bar. If you have never tasted a Violet Crumble, you will probably love the Crunchie bars and they should still satisfy Violet Crumble lovers. The bars were shipped from the UK by Royal Mail (Airmail), with no indication that USPS Priority mail shipping (as stated on the Web page) had been involved. They arrived in 18 days from the order date (2 weeks EARLIER than expected). Packaging was light weight cardboard, but this was sufficient to allow the contents to arrive undamaged (These bars are very brittle and easily damaged). The Cadbury Crunchie bars are individually wrapped in metallized plastic (like Violet Crumbles) and groups of three were then wrapped again with the same material (by the manufacturer) to protect freshness. The chocolate coating showed no melting, which could be a problem when summer arrives. The package and packing slip had no return address and Amazon.com has changed the supplier's name on the website since I ordered, so I have no idea who actually supplied the product, but all was OK. Based on this experience, I would recommend the product and supplier to others looking for a unique and fantastic tasting candy bar.

My favorite since childhood
By Thomas
One if the drawbacks to living in the USA is that chocolate tastes are quite different from Europe. Before I started buying more and more of my groceries on Amazon, I was forced to pay for expensive individual imported bars chosen by my grocer. Well, no more. Now, I'm buying them in bulk online, shipped directly from England. The excess bars make excellent gifts, and it's rather amusing to watch the positive reaction of Americans who have never tried Crunchie bars. There really is no better chocolate bar out there. I only wish they still made the vanilla crunchies too.
